## Run your team from Claude, ChatGPT or Grok.

Connect BenchApp to the AI assistant you already use. Ask who's in for Thursday, import last night's box score from a screenshot, add new players, load your season schedule or invite spares, all in plain English. You see every change before it's saved.

- "Who hasn't responded for Thursday's game?"
- "How many goals does Sam have this season?"
- "Who's been out the most this season?"
- "Here's last night's box score. Add the stats."
- "Add these 12 players to our roster."
- "Ana wears 21 now, and move Chris to the spares."
- "Import our fall schedule from this screenshot."
- "Find the spares who played in the last 3 months."
- "Invite them to our next game."

## Turn a box score screenshot into game stats.

Share a game's box score as a screenshot, photo, PDF or pasted text. Your assistant reads it, matches each line to your roster by jersey number or name, and shows every player's goals, assists and penalty minutes for that game, before and after, plus the final score and goalies when the sheet has them.

Lines that don't match anyone are flagged, not guessed. Importing the same box score again replaces that game's stats instead of adding to them, so nothing is counted twice. Available for hockey teams for now.

- Import stats from a box score screenshot
- Players matched by jersey number or name
- Season stats update with every game
- Importing again never double-counts

## Add players and fix roster details in one message.

Give your assistant a list of new players, typed, pasted or from a screenshot, and it adds the whole group to your roster with emails, phone numbers, jersey numbers, positions and roster types. Players with an email get an invite, or are linked to your team if they already have a BenchApp account.

Changing a player's roster name, jersey number, position or roster type works the same way, for one player or a whole lineup at once. A roster name changes on that team only; the player's BenchApp account and other teams stay as they are.

- Add a whole roster at once
- New players with an email get an invite
- Update names, jersey numbers, positions and roster types
- Warns when two players share a jersey number

## Import your season schedule from a screenshot.

Share your schedule as a screenshot, PDF, spreadsheet or pasted text. Your assistant reads the games, practices and other events, and BenchApp shows each one with its date, time, opponent and home or away before anything is added.

Events already on your schedule are skipped. Opponent names are matched to the teams already in your season, and any new opponents are listed before they're created. Your team is only notified if you ask.

- Import a schedule from a screenshot, PDF or spreadsheet
- Skips games already on your schedule
- Matches opponents you already play
- The whole schedule is added in one go

## Short a player? Invite spares in one sentence.

Ask your assistant to find the spares who have played with you recently and invite them to your next game. BenchApp checks your spare list, skips anyone already invited or already in, and shows you exactly who would get the invite, the fee, and how it will be sent.

Nothing goes out until you say so. Confirm the preview and the invites send the same way they do from the app.

- Only players on your team's spare list can be invited
- You always see a preview before anything is sent
- Uses your team's spare fee and prepay settings

## Works with Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini and more

BenchApp's MCP server works with any AI assistant that can connect to a remote MCP server and sign in with OAuth. These are the ones you are most likely to use today.

- Claude (web, desktop and mobile) (Chat app): Add a custom connector under Customize, then Connectors. Every plan. Free includes one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it.
- ChatGPT (Chat app): Turn on Developer mode, then create a developer-mode app for BenchApp on the web. Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu. On Business and Enterprise, an admin enables it.
- Grok (Chat app): At grok.com/connectors, add a custom connector. On Business and Enterprise, an admin adds it.
- Gemini (Chat app): In Gemini on the web, add a custom app under Connected Apps. Personal Google accounts in the US. Not available for work or school accounts yet.
- Perplexity (Chat app): Add a custom connector and choose Remote. Pro, Max or Enterprise.
- Claude Code (Developer tool): claude mcp add --transport http benchapp https://mcp.benchapp.com/mcp Any Claude Code install.
- Cursor (Developer tool): Add the server URL to your MCP settings. Any Cursor plan.
- VS Code with GitHub Copilot (Developer tool): Add the server URL to mcp.json. Any Copilot plan. On Business and Enterprise, an admin enables MCP servers.

## Connect in under two minutes

Every assistant connects with the same URL and the same BenchApp login. Here's where to add it in Claude, ChatGPT and Grok.

Server URL: https://mcp.benchapp.com/mcp

## Connect BenchApp to Claude

Custom connectors work on Claude's Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, on the web, in the desktop app and in Cowork. Free includes one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds BenchApp under Organization settings > Connectors, then each member connects it from Customize > Connectors.

- 1. Open Customize > Connectors, select + Add, then Add custom connector.
- 2. Name it BenchApp, enter https://mcp.benchapp.com/mcp as the remote MCP server URL and select Continue. Keep the authentication settings Claude detects and select Add.
- 3. Log in to BenchApp with Google, Facebook, Apple or your email. If the login page doesn't open, select Connect next to BenchApp in Customize > Connectors.
- 4. Choose what Claude can do. Viewing your teams is always on; turn on Invite spares, Import box scores, Add and edit players or Import schedules, then select Allow.
- 5. In a chat, turn BenchApp on from the + button, then Connectors.

## Other assistants

Using Gemini, Perplexity, Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code? Add https://mcp.benchapp.com/mcp wherever it adds remote MCP servers, as in the table above, then log in to BenchApp and choose what it can do.

## Built for managers, safe by design

- Acts as you, and only you: Your assistant signs in with your BenchApp account and sees the teams you manage. It gets no access you don't already have.
- You approve every change: Spare invites, box scores, new players, roster edits and schedule imports always start as a preview. Your assistant can only save or send what you have seen and confirmed.
- Your password stays with BenchApp: You log in on BenchApp's own page. Your AI assistant never sees your password, and you can disconnect it whenever you like.

## Frequently asked questions

- Which AI assistants work with BenchApp? Any assistant that can connect to a remote MCP server and sign in with OAuth. That includes Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini and Perplexity, and developer tools such as Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code with GitHub Copilot.
- Does BenchApp work with ChatGPT? Yes. On a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan, turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT on the web and create a developer-mode app for BenchApp with the URL https://mcp.benchapp.com/mcp.
- Does BenchApp work with Claude? Yes, on every Claude plan. In Customize > Connectors, add a custom connector with the URL https://mcp.benchapp.com/mcp and log in to BenchApp. It works on the web and in the desktop app, and on mobile once it's added.
- Does BenchApp work with Grok? Yes. On grok.com, go to Connectors, add a custom connector with the URL https://mcp.benchapp.com/mcp and log in to BenchApp. On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin sets up connectors first.
- Does it work with Microsoft Copilot? Not yet. Microsoft 365 Copilot only connects to MCP servers that an administrator registers ahead of time. GitHub Copilot in VS Code does work.
- Can I import stats from a box score screenshot? Yes, for hockey teams (ice, ball, roller and street). Share the box score as a screenshot, photo, PDF or pasted text, and your assistant matches each line to your roster by jersey number or name, then shows the goals, assists and penalty minutes it will save for that game. Nothing is saved until you confirm, and importing the same game again replaces its stats instead of counting them twice. Other sports aren't supported yet.
- Can ChatGPT add players to my team? Yes. Once BenchApp is connected, ChatGPT, Claude and the other assistants above can add players to your roster in a batch, with names, emails, phone numbers, jersey numbers, positions and roster types. Players with an email get an invite, or are linked to your team if they already have a BenchApp account. You see who will be added and who will be emailed before anything is saved.
- Can my AI assistant change player names and jersey numbers? Yes. It can change a player's roster name, jersey number, position and roster type, for one player or several at once, and shows each change before it's saved. A roster name changes on that team for the current season only; the player's BenchApp account and other teams stay the same. Emails, phone numbers and manager roles can't be changed from an AI assistant.
- Can I import my schedule with AI? Yes. Share your schedule as a screenshot, PDF, spreadsheet or pasted text, and your assistant shows every game, practice and event it will add to your team's current season. Events already on your schedule are skipped, new opponents are listed before they're created, and your team is only notified if you ask. If your league runs your schedule in BenchApp, games against opponents that aren't already in your season can't be added this way.
- Can my AI assistant send invites or make changes without asking me? No. Spare invites, box score imports, new players, player edits and schedule imports always start as a preview that shows exactly what will change, and for invites, who will be invited, the fee and how it will be sent. Nothing is saved or sent until you confirm.
- What can the assistant see? The same things you can see as a manager in BenchApp: your teams, schedules, attendance, rosters, spares and stats. It acts with your account and never gets access you don't already have.
- Do I choose what my assistant can change? Yes. When you connect, viewing your teams is always on, and inviting spares, importing box scores, adding and editing players, and importing schedules are each separate permissions. Without one, your assistant can still show you a preview but can't save it. If you connected before a permission existed, disconnect and connect again to turn it on.
- Is there a BenchApp API? BenchApp's MCP server is the way to connect AI assistants and agents to your BenchApp account. It gives them a set of ready-made tools for schedules, attendance, rosters, stats, box scores and spares on top of BenchApp's API.
- How do I disconnect? Remove BenchApp from your assistant's connectors or apps settings. The next time you connect, you will log in and choose what it can do again.
- Do I need BenchApp PRO? Yes. The MCP server is a BenchApp PRO feature, turned on per team. It works for any team you manage that is on PRO, which is $9 per month per team, and for teams whose league is on League PRO. You can connect with any BenchApp account, and your assistant will tell you which of your teams need PRO.

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets AI assistants use other apps safely. Instead of copying your schedule into a chat, you connect your assistant to BenchApp once and it can look things up and take actions for you.

BenchApp's MCP server gives your assistant a set of tools built for team managers: your teams, your schedule, attendance for each game, your roster, player and game stats, importing box scores and schedules, adding and editing players, and finding and inviting spares. Your assistant decides which tool to use from what you ask, and anything it would save or send is shown to you as a preview first.

Because MCP is a standard, the same BenchApp connection works across Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini and the other assistants above. You sign in once with your BenchApp account, and you can disconnect whenever you like.
